Species richness ~ priority areas for roving in the final breeding season | |||||||||
| We are now down to the last few months of summer fieldwork and there
are still areas where we suspect the species lists are incomplete.
The map on the right shows the 10-km squares in which fieldwork has so far recorded fewer than 20 species, or fewer than 90% of the species we think could be there (based on what was recorded in the previous atlases. Darker colours indicate the squares of highest urgency where the fewest species have been seen:
Note some black squares may represent coastal squares with very little land. Use the controls to zoom in to an area of your choice. If you click on a square the pop-up message will give you more information about actual species richness recorded so far. If you have found an area where you could help, login using the buttons below and use the Any Square Summaries, Priority squares or My local gaps options to see which species could be missing, then hit the field. |
