EURING has a standard set of codes that are used by Ringing Schemes throughout Europe. The use of these codes by the European schemes facilitates easy data transfer between schemes and provides analysts with cross-european data sets in a standard format.

All EURING codes have previously been available in the EURING exchange-code 2000. This application allows you to view, search and download EURING codes for ringing schemes, administrative areas, species and the circumstances in which they were recovered. Included are both current codes and those no longer used. The latter are included as they will appear on older data.

These code tables will not be included in a future printed edition of the EURING exchange code 2000 manual, although they do remain in the current version. The remaining code tables are still available in the EURING exchange-code 2000. Codes that are no longer used (but will appear in older data) are also available in previous versions of the code.
